The following tutorial illustrates how a girl image is drawn and colored in photoshop
6. Scanning Art Work:
Now you are ready with your inked artwork. It is time for scanning. Scan your artwork at 300 dpi. Save your scanned images in Tiff format (Bitmap). The requirement for print media is 300 dpi in CMYK format. The web requirement is 72 dpi in RGB format. You can bring down the image size to 72 dpi and the mode to RGB to suit web needs. It is always better to chose high resolution at first. High resolution images when scaled down to small images will give a professional look when we are dealing with pixels. Vector images are exceptional.
7.Editing Art Work:
Open your scanned TIFF format images in your graphic editor. Here Iam refering to photoshop. You can use same sort of tools on other graphic editor to substitute the one referred here. Now you are on bitmap mode.
1. With your image opened in photoshop go to Image >> Mode and select grayscale.
2. The Grayscale popup window appears. Don't do anything. just click okey.
3. Once again go to Image > Mode and this time select CMYK color Mode.
4. 300 dpi scanned images are too large to fit in window. Make image view 50% or go to View > Fit on Screen.
Tip: By pressing Ctrl + Minus and Ctrl + plus keys you can zoom in and out the image.
5. Press Key X on key board. And watch the"Set foreground color" "Set background color" boxes changes there position in tool box. (If your tool box is not visible on stage go to Window and click on tools in dropdown menu).By pressing Key D on your key board the foreground and background colors will restore to black and white respectively irrespective of their previous colors. Now press Key D on your key board to restore foreground and background color box on tool box to black and white.
