The following tutorial illustrates how a girl image is drawn and colored in photoshop

6. With black selected as foreground, select pencil tool (Keyboard shortcut B). Join all opened loops in your drawing with pencil tool. If loops are not joined the fill color will spil out of designated area.

7. Select eraser tool. Erase all dust and scratches if any (See Image above)
8, To open color picker click inside foreground color box in tool box. Chose required color from color picker. Move the left and right white arrows on horizontal bar to chose main color and click in side the large square to chose its greadient. the result color can be previewed in righside rectangular color box. When done click okey.
9. Select paint bucket tool in tool box (Se Image above). If paint bucket tool not traceble in tool box the reason may be gradient tool selected. Click a small arrow on right side bottom of the rectangel as shown in picture. You can see option for that particular tool. Select paint bucket from options. Set the options for paintbucket tool as shown in the image. and click inside required loops to fill the color. Complete all other areas of the image with required colors.

| 8. Making Transperant Back ground of Artwork: |
Remember, you are not selected any layers to fill the colors. So far you are working on single Background layer and you filled all the colors on background layer only. Now your art work background must be transperent. (No...not saving the file in gif format). The format will be either .psd or .TIFF with CMYK Color mode. To make your Image background transperant follow these steps.
1. Select Magicwand tool. Set Magicwand tolerance to 20. Check Contiguous.

2. To delete background of the image, the background layer needs to make "0" (zero) layer. To do this double click on the background layer in layer pallete. (If your layer pallette not opened go to windows>>layers. Key board short cut F7). New Layer window pops up. If you wish you can name the layer. For now let it be 0 and click ok.
3. 300 dpi scanned images are too large to fit in window. Make image view 50% or go to View > Fit on
screen.
4. Press Key X on key board. And watch the"Set foreground color" "Set background color" boxes changes there position in tool box. (If your tool box is not visible on stage go to Window and click tools in dropdown menu).By pressing Key D on your key board the foreground and background colors will restore to black and white respectively irrespective of their previous colors. Now press Key D on your key board to restore foreground and background color box on tool box to black and white.
