EASY WAYS TO DRAW CARTOONS |
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT |
Practicing of some basic shapes like curves, circles, straight lines, slant lines and parallel lines are prime requirement for drawing cartoons. To get smooth pencil strokes some amout of practicing is essential requirement to draw good cartoons.
If you are really facinated to draw cartoons practice the following patterns regularly for atleast one hour till you feel some sort of rhythm in your lines. Preserve the practiced papers and tally previously practised papers with present one. You can find the difference and some sort of variations in lines and storkes. |

Do not stop practicing the above lines till you are accustomed for free flow of pencil lines/strokes. Your hand must rotate 360 degrees in circular motion (clockwise and anti-clockwise) with out much efforts and you should witness the richness in lines. Same applys for drawing straig linest, right slants, left slants, parallel lines, drawing from right to lefr and vice versa. |

Imagination and Creativity |
Let the practice be continued. The next essential requirement is Imagination and Creativity. To gain imagination you must learn to draw plenty of cartoons from references. Chose good cartoon books of your choice. Keep references of cartoonist you like most. All Artists/Cartoonist are not alike. They have their own way of presenting their lines and strokes with different style and creativity added.
The following two cartoons are drawn by two different cartoonists. Their regular cartoons are my inspiration to draw cartoons and illustrations. I always follow their way of drawing lines and curves. Both have different style of cartooning and illustrating. They are well know Cartoonist with experience of more than thirty years in the cartooning and illustration field. Iam still learning from them.
