Why 100% Black Water Proof Drawing Ink? |
There are three advantages with waterproof drawing ink:
(i) You can put white poster color on unwanted lines that were drawn unintentionally. Waterproof wont interact with water based colors. So there is no fear of mixing white with black.
(ii) Accidentally if water falls on your drawing , lines won't dissolve.
(iii) When you scan 100% black lined images you will get perfect lines in scanned images.
What is Crowquil Nib?.
Crowquill nibs are available in all leading stationary shops, These nibs you can insert in to a holder and dip in ink to draw lines. These nibs will come in different size to suit our drawing needs.
Use of brush.
To fill large areas the brush is best option. Filling can be done in graphic editor too. But to know how your final image look like it is important to fill the required areas like hair and shadows before going for scan.
White poster color:
This is nothing but a eraser. To hide dark unwanted line on white paper white poster colors come in handy. Use brush to apply the white poster color on unwanted black lines on your drawing. |
Procedure:
Keep water with mug and a rough cloth to wash nib when it dries. Dip your nib in to drawing ink. withdraw excess ink by touching and draging slowly the nib at bottle nose. Draw the ink lines over the rough main pencil lines. do not worry about the extra lines that goes away from main lines. These lines can be eliminated in photoshop or with white poster color |
complete your drawing and let the drawing get dry for few minute. Erase all the background pencil lines completely. Your nib may get dry while drawing is progressing. Dip the nib tip in the water and wipe with cloth. If your ink is not flowing freely wet the nib little and dip in ink (only half of the nib length to be dipped to grab the ink. with draw extra and excessive ink by gentaly draging at bottle nose). |

After adding details the Art work is inked and filled with black. Above the green lines indicates filled area. After inking let image dry for few minutes and erase out all pencil lines before scanning.
